Kenya hosted the first African bovine reproduction workshop at ADC Semen Production Centre Kitale with over 10 African countries represented for exchange of ideas on reproduction through new technologies in the sector.

While opening the three-day workshop in Kitale on 16th October 2018, the Agriculture Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), Dr. Andrew Tuimur said the workshop would provide a platform for showcasing high technology equipment.
He said the efficient use of technologies will help in efficient, hygienic, easy to trace semen production and in solving common cattle reproductive challenges.

Tuimur said the exchange of ideas and knowledge on the new technologies is important in the area especially when the country established the ADC Semen Production Centre bull which is automated and relies on modern technology to extract semen, store and disseminate to farmers.
The Chairman of ADC, H. E Benjamin Cheboi EBS said the facility is one of the projects that support the Big4 Agenda of President Uhuru Kenyatta to the country.

“We think that this is a legacy project for the government,” the Chairman said.The Managing Director ADC, Mr. Richard Aiyabei, took time to welcome all guests to the three day event that would provide an opportunity to participants f rom Africa update themselves in current dynamics and technology in Bovine reproduction, semen processing and preservation and also acknowledged Instruments De Medicine Veterinarie Technologies (IMV technologies) globally renowned experts from Europe who would facilitate the event.
